Long Beach Cancer League - Our Mission

The Mission of the Long Beach Cancer League, a fundraising auxiliary of the American Cancer Society is to further the general purpose and mission of the American Cancer Society. The funds raised by the Cancer League support the American Cancer Society's cutting edge research program, funding 46 Nobel Laureates.

The Long Beach Cancer League is comprised of over 100 dedicated volunteers who have created and promoted an annual Gala event. Fourty one years and over eleven million dollars raised is evidence of this group's passionate commitment to the American Cancer Society and the fight against cancer. The Long Beach Cancer League Gala event affords the League an opportunity to vigorously pursue the American Cancer Society's vision: saving 3.2 million lives from cancer.

During the holidays, the League sponsors Adopt-A-Family providing gifts and food to families dealing with cancer.

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
